Bush's daughter's phone on 'eBay'

A mobile phone stolen from President Bush's daughter was reportedly put up for sale on an internet auction site.
The phone was put up for sale on website Mercado Libre with a starting price of about £160, reports Terra.cl.
The advert on the website - the Argentinian equivalent of eBay - claimed: "Barbara Bush's mobile, an amazing possibility.
"It has George Bush's private number plus Michael Jackson's, Madonna's, Paris Hilton and Ozzy Osbourne's."
The phone, also said to have had numbers for the White House, Pentagon, FBI, CIA, and the IMF, was quickly removed from the website.
Barbara Bush's purse was snatched at a Buenos Aires restaurant during a night on the town in November.

eBay's St. Nick 'relic' sale draws protest

If you don't hear Old Saint Nick up on the rooftop on Christmas Eve, maybe it's because he's been sold on eBay.
The online auction house is under fire for allowing the sale of a holy relic, purported to be a bone fragment, of St. Nicholas of Bari, the 4th-century gift-giving saint who was the inspiration for today's Santa Claus.

Stifel Nicolaus' Devitt: Free Google Checkout Bad News for eBay's PayPal

“Google is spending aggressively on gaining traction with its Checkout product and we think the offering has the possibility of disrupting eBay’s (EBAY) off-platform PayPal business as well as the general ecommerce market,” he wrote in a research note this morning. “Google is now effectively paying all credit card fees for partners for a full year. We think Checkout is becoming Google’s Internet Explorer, if you will, and we think it is time to start paying close attention.”
Devitt says some investors might react in knee-jerk fashion and sell on the lost fees from this move, but that he would be an aggressive buyer around any short-term weakness related to the new policy. “We think, if it works, it is potentially very disruptive to the competition and materially beneficial to Google’s core Adwords business.”
Devitt maintains his Buy rating and $554 price target for Google.
