Ferry logbooks not on sale on eBay

It was all a misunderstanding says the B.C. man who had been reported to be selling the missing logbooks from the sunken ferry, the Queen of the North, on eBay.

The man from Prince Rupert, who calls himself "Blissmeister," had advertised what he claimed were exclusive photos and logbooks from the ship.

"Also included in this one-of-a-kind hard-to-find auction lot, are log books which are secured inside the manila envelopes shown below," read the ad on the eBay auction site.

eBay's Early Cheer

At Tuesday's close, the stock was up 24% in the last three months -- 9% of which was delivered in only the last month since the company announced earnings. Shares were up another 18 cents Wednesday to $33.83.

But the positive sentiment may just be kicking in. A barrage of analyst-issued research reports this week lauded eBay's current-quarter progress and gave a vote of confidence to management's efforts to get the business back on track.

Logbooks, photos said to be from sunken B.C. ferry go up for sale on EBay

Logbooks said to be from a ferry that sank near Prince Rupert, B.C. earlier this year were briefly up for sale on an online auction site Tuesday.

A seller on EBay named Blissmeister listed a lot of pictures and logbooks from the Queen of the North. The logbooks detailing the ship's activity the night it sank have been reported as missing. The description of the items up for sale didn't specify whether they were the documents in question. The listing was taken down late Tuesday night, but not before attracting a high bid of $57.30.

eBay to Make Gallery More Affordable?

Analyst Scott Devitt of Stifel Nicolaus met with eBay CFO Bob Swan this week. In Scott's research note published Tuesday, he mentioned something I'm not sure I've seen mentioned before. "We note that eBay has begun to test a Gallery pricing bundle that could provide discounted gallery pictures for sellers."

Coin Dealer Gets Prison in eBay Fraud

A former lawyer and rare coin dealer was sentenced Tuesday to more than five years in prison after admitting he defrauded more than $1 million from more than 100 people who bought collectibles from him on the eBay online auction site.

KATIE 'Jordan' Price is planning on removing and selling her G-Cup implants on ebay.She is reportedly fed up with her really big boobs and wants to tone it down just a little.After removing the implants she plans on selling it on ebay and donating some of the proceeds to charity.

MacSoft publishes Garage Sale eBay software

Destineer subsidiary MacSoft — best known as a purveyor of Mac games like the forthcoming Age of Empires 3 — announced Tuesday that it has partnered with Iwascoding to publish to retailers a version of Garage Sale, the eBay auction software for Mac OS X. Garage Sale costs $29.99.

EBay software pirates fined $100,000

The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has been paid $100,000 in damages after settling two cases of illegal software sales.

Two defendants, Kevin Liu and G T Tian, paid a total of $100,000 in damages, as well as agreeing to stop selling illegal software, in one of the cases arising from the SIIA's Auction Litigation Programme.
