Toronto, Canada (AHN) - One of the first Order of Canada medals given out is being auctioned off through e-mail after eBay refused to let the owner flog it on its site.
The medal is being auctioned anonymously and has had expressions of interest from hundreds of interested buyers.
Nearly 40 years ago, Quebec historian Gustave Lanctot was awarded the medal and at the time of eBay's removal of the auction, the bidding had already reached $15,000 and received 8,500 hits to the website.
