Neo-Nazis, for god's sake. Imagine Absurd Minds being Neo-Nazis! Surprised by the title? Well here is what happened actually. I was contacted this evening by an italian friend who saw his eBay listing of a limited boxset by Absurd Minds deleted because it violated the eBay 'Hateful or Discriminatory policy'.
I got the mail eBay sent to hime and according to that mail the CD box was put in the same bin as items (such as helmets, daggers, and medals) that bear Nazi, Neo-Nazi, or Aryan Nation symbols. Now, can someone explain me what affiliation Absurd Minds have with Nazism?

Crash & Bash: Auctioneers Get Little Love From eBay
Stamford, Conn.:A painting offered at Trinity Fine Arts' auction of important American, Russian and European art on October 21 attracted spirited floor bidding and sold for $750. That would have been fine, said Steve Gass, the auction house's co-owner, his voice inflecting no small amount of irony, except that the consignor learned afterward that there had been two absentee bids on the painting left with eBay Live starting at around $2,000.
Money on the table and the characteristic shrug from eBay were among the simmering detritus at 30 or more auction houses around the world in the wake of an eBay Live computer system crash that lasted for four hours on October 21. The "glitch" disrupted sales, enraged and frustrated online bidders and underlined for auctioneers once again that doing business with the San Jose, Calif.-based juggernaut is a double-edged sword at best.
"What's really awful about all of this is that the word 'contrition' does not seem to be in their vocabulary," complained Gass. Other than offering a slight consideration in cataloging fees, he said, eBay did not make any meaningful restitution. In addition to Trinity, many other important auctioneers were affected, including Philip Weiss in Oceanside, N.Y., Ed Nadeau in Windsor, Conn., and David Rago in Lambertville, N.J.

The dust has settled on the first week of console-launch profiteering on eBay. Which way did your bank account go?
Gamasutra reports that the numbers are in on exactly how many hotly-traded consoles made their way across the auction block during the first week of launch madness.
According to eBay, 14,675 PS3s were traded between November 17th through November 24th over its auction service, with the average price of a new PS3 going for $1,186.39.
That number does not take into account all the people who also auctioned off their PS3 pre-sale tickets. Factoring in these numbers as well (13,558 since October 24th) and the grand total of PS3s ransomed online rises to 28,233, with a final eBay average price of $1,369.90 apiece.

AN EBAY-style website to auction meals at top restaurants will extend its reach into Edinburgh next month.
Priceyourmeal.com, which launched in Glasgow in March, now has more than 80 restaurants on board, taking in excess of 700 bookings a week.
Registered users can use the site to bid for meals at top restaurants in auctions or haggle directly with the restaurants over meal prices.

Tickets for premiere appear on eBay
HUNTINGTON – Sales have barely been over for two hours and tickets to the Dec. 12 “We Are Marshall” premiere at Pullman Square have already been spotted on online auction site eBay.
A search for “Marshall premiere” reveals three listings for tickets so far, with one auctioneer currently asking $55 for a pair of tickets (plus a $12 shipping charge). Bidding on another pair has already leapt to $142.50 (plus $6 shipping). Another pair has reached $150.
Around 2,000 tickets to the premiere went on sale at the theater today, at a cost of $25 per seat. No limits were placed on how many tickets each customer could buy, with at least one in line buying a block of 100 tickets with $2,500 in cash.

Accepting challenges key to successful life
Being smart is one thing, but to impact the world one must take risks, state Controller Steve Westly said Monday at Mission San Jose High School, a campus whose students' high test scores and grades get many of them into the nation's top universities.
Urging students to "think big," take calculated risks and challenge people who say their ideas are impossible to achieve, Westly stressed the value of straying from the comfortable path.
Had he decided to play it safe his entire life, Westly never would have left his teaching position at Stanford University — which came with a hefty salary — to work for a startup company, selling items out of a garage. Today, that company, eBay, allows millions of people worldwide to buy and sell items online daily.
And when he decided to leave eBay six years ago to work in the public sector, he understood that again he would be leaving a comfortable job for work that offers less pay. But he accepted the trade-off.
